What is a JSON Canvas (.canvas) file?
JSON Canvas is an open file format (spec 1.0, MIT-licensed) for infinite-canvas boards: text cards, embedded files, web links, and groups, connected by labelled arrows. It was created by Obsidian for its Canvas feature and is plain JSON, so any tool can read it. This viewer parses that JSON and draws the board โ no Obsidian required. It is not related to Canva the design app, or to Canvas GFX.
